A voice that grows with the timeline
Genie’s Korean album note describes “Gradually” as a recollection of love beginning, written like a time-slip film. The band sound intensifies as the emotion deepens, which gives KEN’s famous high register somewhere meaningful to go.
He starts with control rather than unloading the climax in verse one. Guitar, piano and programmed drums widen the memory around him. When the vocal finally opens, it feels earned. The structure is familiar, but familiarity is not a crime when the singer can make the staircase feel steeper.
The MV turns memory into a return address
The visual follows the song’s time-slip idea through remembered spaces and emotional distance. KEN performs as somebody revisiting a beginning with knowledge of what came later. That keeps the nostalgia from becoming a collection of pretty retro objects.
The official player does not autoplay.
RaeRae verdict
Replay: Yes, when emotional volume is permitted.
Best choice: Saving the full vocal force for the climb.
Complaint: The video could risk one less polished memory.
