A promise written as a constellation
“Sagittarius” blends R&B ease with an EDM pulse instead of forcing WOOYOUNG into a giant vocal showcase. His voice moves loosely across the beat, warm enough to carry the song’s promise without making it syrupy. The lyric begins in darkness and addresses the person who became its light. The turn is the important part: he does not only want to receive that light. He promises to become it in return.
HONGJOONG wrote and composed the song as a gift for WOOYOUNG, whose zodiac sign supplies the title. WOOYOUNG joined the lyric credits, so the personal framing is not a fan theory attached after release. The official video closes with a special thanks to ATINY and also uses Scorpio, the sign attached to the fandom anniversary. The stars are doing actual editorial work.
The first upload was an unreleased ATEEZ Present song in February. KQ later gave it a formal streaming home on the July In Your Fantasy Edition. That chronology matters. The video was not belated promotion for an album cut. The album preserved a personal performance that fans had already lived with for months.
The mirror is his second performer
The video opens in a dark underground practice room with WOOYOUNG approaching a full-length mirror. There is no plot pretending to be a film. The mirror, the confined floor and his body carry the piece.
His choreography alternates smooth control with harder stops. That balance matches the record. The melody drifts, but the beat keeps asking for edges. WOOYOUNG answers with weight changes, clean lines and expressions that stay focused rather than oversold. The smoky makeup and limited light sharpen the urban mood without hiding the movement.
The lack of lip-sync focus is useful. This is a dance interpretation built around the chorus, not a standard beauty close-up with choreography inserted between edits. The camera lets him occupy the room, then uses reflection to make one performer feel like a conversation.
RaeRae verdict
Best detail: The Sagittarius and Scorpio signs connect WOOYOUNG’s identity to ATINY without needing a speech.
Complaint: The performance is so controlled that one wider, uninterrupted final pass would have made the ending hit harder.
Final call: Personal, restrained and built for WOOYOUNG rather than a generic solo slot. The mirror does not steal the scene. It proves he can hold one by himself.
