A comeback that does not cosplay as 2015

“PYTHON” uses a sleek pop-R&B frame instead of rebuilding the loudest parts of GOT7’s early catalog. The chorus compares attraction to a snake tightening its hold, but the production stays cool enough that the danger feels addictive rather than theatrical.

BamBam participated across the writing and production process, including directing the members’ recording. That helps explain why the song leaves room for seven recognizable tones. The hook is immediate, although its icon/python rhyme is pleased enough with itself to return before the metaphor develops much further.

Stage glamour meets snow-day freedom

Kakao’s official account describes the MV as balancing GOT7’s glamorous stage identity with carefree scenes in a snowy field. That split is useful. The polished interiors show the public group; the cold outdoor play makes the reunion feel inhabited by actual friends.

The official player does not autoplay.

Seven voices, no identity crisis

JAY B opens with weight, Jackson and Jinyoung pull the verses lower, and Youngjae gives the upper line lift. BamBam’s rhythmic phrasing sits naturally inside his own production choices. Mark and Yugyeom keep the final rotation from becoming a parade of interchangeable parts. The reunion matters because the differences remain audible.

RaeRae verdict

Replay: Yes.
Best choice: Sounding current without pretending the group’s history disappeared.
Complaint: The python metaphor needed a second trick.
