Glow Up

A self-improvement song that smells like soap, sunlight and somebody hiding the alarm clock.

Growth without a motivational megaphone

“Glow Up” moves at 117 BPM, but it feels lighter than that number suggests. Captain Cuts builds a bright pop bed with soft edges, and the Korean lyrics connect growth with light, clear fragrance, curiosity and movement.

The members sing about becoming brighter together rather than unveiling a replacement personality. That suits RESCENE’s scent-based identity. The verses carry the prettiest detail. The repeated “that-that-that” hook is efficient but less distinctive, as if the song reaches the perfume counter and chooses the safest bottle.

The MV lets color do the growing

The video favors luminous rooms, pastel transitions and close group chemistry over a rigid plot. Visual changes feel like small doors opening rather than a makeover reveal. The five members stay connected to the song’s “me and us” message instead of competing for five unrelated beauty campaigns.

The official player is silent until clicked and does not autoplay.

I wanted one image with more bite. The production is so committed to freshness that it occasionally feels afraid of a shadow. Growth usually involves at least one ugly box from the back of the closet.

RaeRae verdict

Replay: Yes, for bright mornings I do not personally experience.
Best choice: Keeping growth communal.
Complaint: The hook is safer than the verses.
