Early life and Produce 101
CHAEYEON entered Produce 101 as an MBK Entertainment trainee who had already debuted briefly with DIA. She finished seventh. Her camera appeal became one of the season’s visual signatures, but the non-exclusive I.O.I contract meant she was repeatedly balancing group schedules with DIA.

“Downpour” and the final concert closed the original contract. The ending was administrative, public and emotionally real. JUNG CHAEYEON returned to a separate agency path with the I.O.I name still attached to every future introduction.
Career after 2017
