Jay is ENHYPEN’s sharp edge and accidental comedy department. He can move from expensive fashion analysis to full emotional crisis in under thirty seconds, then walk onto a stage and make the chaos look planned.
Early life and training
Born Park Jong-seong in Seattle, Jay moved to South Korea as a child. He trained for several years before I-LAND, including time in the Big Hit trainee system. That long training period gave him a sturdy performance base, but his appeal is not technical polish alone. Jay reacts honestly. Sometimes painfully honestly. Fandom never has to wonder whether a situation has irritated him.
I-LAND and career
Jay finished second in the I-LAND finale. His “resentment, anger, shame” speech became one of the show’s defining moments because it was dramatic, sincere, and somehow funny without being fake. That mixture followed him into ENHYPEN.
